Some days we just don’t have time to get up in the morning and do a full-on face of makeup; unless we get up super early! but who wants to when it’s so cold and dark outside, it’s an effort at the best of times. So for the times, we need to rush and be out the door, we need something quick that takes minimal effort but still look gorgeous and polished. I think I’ve mastered the perfect routine.
I’ve tried a few different looks but now I’ve finally found a routine that uses minimal products and is really quick but yet I’m still happy with the finished result.
Firstly I never miss my morning routine no matter how rushed I am Daily Face Care Routine It’s important to start with a clean face and to remove any dead skin cells. Your canvas is then ready.
Prime: I use Maybelline Dream Smooth Primer Base Alisadora which is a creamy gel formula. It dulls out large pores around my nose chin and forehead, it glides on and then I’m ready for foundation.
Foundation: Mac Face and Body Foundation is my holy grail foundation, It’s lightweight but buildable, it gives me enough coverage to hide imperfections and uneven skin tones. It leaves my skin looking flawless and dewy without any caking. It takes minimal blending when I use a damp Beautyblender. I often spray my Blender with Mac Fix+ as it saves time on running to the bathroom! To give me extra glow I sometimes mix in a couple drops of Rimmel’s Good To Glow in Soho 003. This will also save time on using a Highlighter.
Concealer: I use Maybelline ‘Fit Me’ in 15, blend with my Beautyblender. Super quick and no caking.
Powder: Mac MSF in ‘Medium’. Using a powder to set your face really helps when applying other powders over the top such as bronzer and blush. It takes seconds to blend. Otherwise, my bronzer and blush go patchy and that’s not a good look!
Brows: The quickest way I find to do my brows is with powder, I’m really loving Barry M ‘Brow Kit’ Medium/Dark, really simple and you don’t have to be super precise. I really like the editorial brow atm.
Bronzer: My favourite bronzer that I stay loyal to is Mac ‘Give Me Sun’, it’s warm and really works with my skin tone. It’s easy to blend with my Sigma Duo Fibre Brush F50.
Blush: I seem to reach for NYX ‘Coraline Blush’ lately, it works really nicely with ‘Mac Give Me Sun’.
Shadow: I keep it simple and just use my Sigma E25 to work a bit of Mac ‘Give Me Sun’ through my crease to give me a bit of definition. I also use this under my eye then smoke it out with the same brush.
Liner: They say ‘If you’re in a hurry, forget this part’, usually I’d agree until I found a product that makes a wing so quick to do. ‘Eyeko’ do a felt liquid liner that’s waterproof called ‘I do’, no messing, no mishaps, done.
Mascara: Another product I always reach for is ‘Lancôme Hypnôse Volume-À-Porter’. I find so many mascaras I have, end up transferring to my lids, but this one never does. It’s the perfect mascara, volumises, lengthens, without clumping or flaking.
Lips: Anything that takes my fancy. I usually do my lips just before I leave the house. I’d avoid anything that required a precise application. Lately, I’ve been reaching for Mac ‘Kinda Sexy’ with Soap and Glory ‘Love and Obeige’ over the top for a bit of moisture.
Setting Spray: NYX ‘Dewy’ Finishing Setting Spray finishes everything off nicely. I’m on my second bottle.
This makeup look takes me less than ten minutes. I keep my main makeup products closest to hand it really helps speed up getting ready. My main issue in the morning is what to wear!
If you have any makeup tips that could help my morning routine or can tell me a really good affordable drugstore mascara, leave me a comment down below, I’d love to hear from you.
Have a wonderful day
