L’Oreal Matte Lip Paints

Last week I was in Superdrug and I picked up two shades in the new L’oreal matte lip paints.  I grabbed the shade Hollywood Beige 201 and then in the newer ‘Nudist’ collection I decided on the shade Dead Lips 210.

I wasn’t sure I’d like these because I’d previously swatched them on my hand, but they didn’t dry how I imagined they would. The product seemed really thick and a mousse-like texture. However, I decided to just grab them to try anyway. They remind me a lot of the Nyx Xtreme Lip Cremes, not the Matte version. The formula doesn’t slide all around your lips but also doesn’t dry completely matte. They are so comfortable to wear. I don’t find I have to constantly retouch my lips after applying either which I was sure I would have had to.

Hollywood Beige 201 – A Coral Pinky Nude

As for the scent, they smell fruity, but it’s not overpowering and once it’s on your lips you don’t notice. They leave your lips soft and they definitely don’t dry my lips out.  My lips feel hydrated and happy!

The doe foot applicator is a little unusual, it has a shape which is designed to contour your lips, but it makes applying the product a little uneven. I find turning it on its side makes applying it better.

I will definitely be picking up a few more shades of these L’Oreal Matte Lip Paints when I get a chance. The newer collection, ‘the nudist’, is gorgeous, there is a nude for everyone.

I love the packaging, the tube is squidgy so you can get every last bit out. Got to get your monies worth hey?!

Also, I noticed that the pink shade has a 12-month shelf life, whereas the Brown Nude has a 24-month shelf life…? Seems odd to me.

I’m looking to buy some more shades. What shades do you have that you’d recommend?
